Chapter 1997: Golden Sun Sovereign Vs Two Foolish Women?

Chapter 1997: Golden Sun Sovereign Vs Two Foolish Women?

Tang Shaoyang could understand the hate against the monster. Han Taiyang might lose his loved ones to monsters, but he did not expect him to be quite sexist. This made the whole scene funny, but those remarks would also excite them.

Yep, he could feel their murderous intent through their connections. They would go all out from the start just to teach this spirit cultivator a lesson. Especially when they knew that Han Taiyang could not die in the fight for the contract.

Avyn used her half transformation, a similar transformation to Tang Shaoyang’s right now. Her wings were wide and big with the unique membrane-like extensions, and were blue-ash colored. Energy pulsed through his wings, and the membrane-like part released the frost energy that caused a drop in temperature.

The pulsing energy caused the wing to glow, radiant shimmer, giving off an impression of the dignity of a noble beast. Her energy also pulsed through her crystalline scales, which also glowed like her wings, amplifying her ethereal nature.

Zara also uncovered her wings, eight pairs of feathered wings, with half of them black and the remaining half. Tang Shaoyang did not really take notice before, but he noticed the changes. The number of her wings increased, and not just that, the eight wings on the bottom part were upside-down wings.

The bottom four left were white upside-down wings, and the bottom four right were black upside-down wings. On top of the four white upside-down wings were the normal black wings, and on the top right were the remaining four white wings.

Tang Shaoyang did not really notice it because Zara always tucked her wings in. Even when she was flying, she did not use her wings. She used her ability to fly instead. Her feet emitted the Death Aura that caused the grass and the ground to turn black because of it.

Zara used her Void Energy to form two swords and looked at the Golden Sun Sovereign with her cold gaze.

Han Taiyang realized his blunder that these two women were not ordinary women. He noticed the transformation on Avyn, and he somewhat believed what Tang Shaoyang said earlier about him not being a monster. Witnessing the transformation changed his view, but it didn’t mean he would admit his mistake. His pride did not allow him to do that.

The Golden Sun Sovereign raised his hand to the air, and a weapon formed in his hand. The System replicated his old weapon, a three-meter Guandao. The Guandao had a similar style and color as well, the golden red-colored steel that had been tempered with his internal energy over time.

"Come at me! It doesn’t matter how strong you are or any demonic power you use. You will die in the hands of this sovereign!"

The Guandao turned even redder, releasing the hot steam as Han Taiyang pointed his Guandao at Tang Shaoyang. At the same time, he noticed something around him.

"A crack?" He was puzzled because he noticed the cracks, a lot of them in the air. The cracks looked like cracked grass.

Before he could figure out what had happened, the crack broke apart and opened a lot of holes. He was confused about what happened. Not just one, but many of them. There were more than fifteen holes in the air, and he could not see through them.

Then swords shot out through the hole, not just from one hole but from all of them. He was surprised, but he reacted in time. He spun the Guandao in his hands, blocking all the swords. However, the swords kept coming out at him nonstop and started to miss a few swords. The swords pierced his thigh, his back, and his left abdomen.

Han Taiyang let out a roar as his Guandao blazed in golden flame. There was an image of a golden sun formed above his head. He swung the Guandao and erased the void holes. Then he started to pluck out the sword from his body.

"That’s it? You need more than that to defeat me! You can never win with something like that!"

His wound recovered after plucking the sword one by one. The wound did not really put him at a disadvantage in any way.

Zara said no words as she slashed her swords toward Han Taiyang. Her swords released the Void Energy that formed into a crescent shape. They crossed paths with each other and came for the spirit cultivator.

Han Taiyang raised his guandao to the air, drawing the energy from the miniature golden sun above his head into the guandao. He swung it down at the crescent energy. The Void Energy exploded and clashed against the golden flame.

The two energies clashed in the air, creating a cloud of chaos. The Golden Sun Sovereign swung his guandao to disperse the raging energy. He was still grinning ear to ear, clearly a challenge to the women that the attack did not work on him.

Han Taiyang, however, noticed that one of the women had disappeared, the woman with many wings. He did not sense her movement, but his perception told him that something dangerous was coming from behind. Instead of meeting whatever came for him head-on, he dashed forward as he turned around.

Zara was standing where he just stood, and her sword met with empty air. He was about to give a challenging grin when her attack did not work on him, but then he saw the smile on the woman. She licked the top of her lips, smiling dangerously.

Han Taiyang felt like avoiding the sword made the woman more excited; instead, it did not make sense. His mind was in confusion until he saw the woman disappear from his sight. He could not see her movement at all.

It was like she disappeared into thin air. The worst part was that he could not sense her energy as well, which rendered his senses useless as well. He did not like where this was going, a fight where he had to rely on his instinct instead of his ability.

His instinct kicked again; she was coming from above. He looked up to face her head-on, but to his surprise, it was the black crescent energy that came at him. He subconsciously swung his guandao upward, meeting with the crescent energy. His guandao easily split the crescent energy without explosion.

But then his instinct screamed at him again, something was coming from behind. Before he could do anything, a black sword pierced his back through his chest. He saw the sword, the same sword the woman used.

Han Taiyang gathered the Golden Sun energy in his guandao as quickly as possible before swinging it backward. His guandao, however, met with empty air. The woman was not behind him.

It was then followed by an even more dangerous feeling that came from below him. But this time, the moment he sensed someone grab his right ankle. Before he could do anything in response, the hand pulled him down with the force he could not match.

The hand threw him down to the ground with a boom. Han Taiyang immediately got back on his feet as he blew away the dust. He looked up at the woman with the sixteen wings who was looking down at him with a smile from the sky.

At this moment, Han Taiyang realized that the winged woman never took him seriously. All their initial exchanges were just a test for him. She caught his ankle when she could cut it. Instead of aiming for his head or heart, the woman chose to throw him to the ground, which did little damage to him. The woman was testing him. She was playing him.

"YOU DARE TO LOOK DOWN AT THIS SOVEREIGN!"

Han Taiyang roared in anger as the golden sun above his head got bigger. At the same time, he burned his surroundings. The ground was blazed in golden flame along with his body. Of course, the golden flame was not dangerous or harmed him.

The worst part was that the woman in the sky chuckled instead of taking him seriously. He was about to lash out until he sensed something dangerous creeping around him. The realization stopped him from blindly attacking the woman in the sky.

He turned around and found the second woman, the dragon-like woman, approaching him gracefully. Each of her steps caused the ground to freeze, and he realized that his golden flame was caged by the ice surrounding him.

"Your little sun looks so pitiful. It can’t even melt the frozen land," Avyn smiled coldly as their gazes met.

Han Taiyang was aware of that, and he was shocked deep inside that there was ice he could not melt. The ice around him should be melted by his blazing sun, but no. This was the first time he encountered an ice he could not melt.

The worst was that he started to feel the chilling aura. His golden sun was above him, and the place around was supposed to be the place with the highest temperature.
